People come to me when they're trying to find the right words. For more than a decade,
that's what I've helped them do.
And whether yours is
a for-profit company, a non-profit organization, government agency,
or a PR or advertising firm, I can create work that is smart,
feels hand-crafted, and holds up over time.
My clients like me because I move easily among projects. Ads, articles, case studies,
brochures, data sheets, press releases, award applications, newsletters, Web copy, and
direct mail projects are all comfortable territory.
They also like that I can ramp up, dig in, and get going;
that I can work remotely or on site; that I'm comfortable with specific
direction or general guidance; and that I can work by myself, as
a member of a team, even as a supervisor of other writers.
And that I never miss a deadline.
So what.
That's all well and good.
But there are lots of writers out there. Why me?
Because not every writer has a journalist's training, an executive's
business sense, a copywriter's creativity, and a politician's ability to
navigate the ego-driven barnyard of an organization without ruffling the wrong feathers.
Like a good reporter,
I can chat up a customer or a CEO. I have an ear for great stories,
the ones that will pull in a reader. I'm not afraid to ask stupid
questionsor politely probe to get the answers I want.
I also understand the big business picture. I can absorb strategic positioning,
competitive analyses, and audience attitudes and boil it all down into something
that's succinct, informative, and easy to read.
Sometimes downright fun.
As a former copywriter, I work easily with creative professionals, from art directors
and designers to Web developers and production managers. I believe in cool concepts,
crisp writing, plenty of white space, and fewer words if it means greater sales. I also
understand the difference between a great idea and an idea that's affordable.

capabilities, just use the links above. To talk about an upcoming
project, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail message or give me
a call.
